New Motor Factor Approved For Dewsbury Community Centre

Martin Walsh Architectural (MWA) has secured planning approval for the conversion and expansion of a former community centre in Dewsbury into a multipurpose facility on behalf of Autocure Motor Factor.

Located at 7 George Street, just outside of Dewsbury town centre, the project will see a brand-new auto car parts retail outlet and storage facility developed; it will include converting the existing sports hall into a two-storey mezzanine.

As part of the design proposals, the MWA team successfully demonstrated how the specifications of the vacant building are fit for purpose to house an Auto CarParts Centre, without compromising the surrounding community.

The project will now move forward to the building regulations stage to allow structural engineers to complete the design for the new two storey mezzanine.

“MWA were able to demonstrate that the former community space requirement had been sufficiently replaced within the area, and the re-purposing of this space ensured a more suitable and sustainable use of this building for the future’.
