Imogen’s 26 Miles For Charity
Martin Walsh Architectural colleague, Imogen Murphy, is embarking on her biggest challenge to date – running the 2023 Rob Burrows Leeds Marathon.
In Memory of her Grandad
Joining more than 12,000 runners, Imogen will be stepping out in memory of her grandad Luke and will be raising money for Overgate Hospice, which provided much-needed support and care for the family.
Making the decision just after Christmas, with just 19 weeks before the big race, Imogen has set herself an ambitious and grueling training challenge.
Imogen comments:
“Christmas was tough, I missed my grandad loads. So, when the new year came and, like usual, everyone started setting their resolutions, I thought that I would make my own but with extra meaning.
“Agreeing to run the marathon is no mean feat, so I knew that I needed a little extra incentive and something that would keep me motivated during my gruelling training sessions. This is why I decided to run for my grandad, and for the hospice that looked after him.
“My training is going well and I’m on schedule with my training plan. Some days are hard, especially when it’s cold and raining or generally a bit grim, but I have my pet pooch Cooper training with me, family supporting me and I know that my grandad is with me every step of the way.”
