MWA Jump Starts New Home For KMS Transport

Martin Walsh Architectural (MWA), the family owned RIBA chartered firm of architects, has been appointed as design consultants by KMS Transport as they invest £1.4m in a new service centre in Barugh Green, Barnsley.

MWA is overseeing a two-phased programme of works, while ensuring that there is no disruption to the day-to-day operation.

The new development, which will see the existing workshop demolished, includes a new workshop, three service bays with two bays housing inspection pits, one of which is a VOSA pit to facilitate MOT’s.

Daryl Le-Vine, Chartered Architect at Martin Walsh Architectural, comments: “KMS is a growing business that requires a head office and service centre that supports their growth and ambitious plans for the future.

“Importantly, like most organisations that redevelop an existing site, they want a team that can oversee works without it impacting on day-to-day operation. For a distribution business like KMS, which service their own vehicles while also being a VOSA approved service centre, this is critical.

“We’re certainly excited to be creating a new home and space for KMS that works so much harder for the team.”
