MWA Breathes New Life into Leeds Welding

Leeds Welding, the metal fabrication and laser cutting specialist, has officially unveiled its new-look premises thanks to Martin Walsh Architectural (MWA) who has remodelled its office and warehouse facility at Westland Square on Dewsbury Road, Leeds.

Breathing new life into the sound but tired building, MWA has redeveloped a floor area of 420m² whilst refitting existing offices to deliver a modern look and structure that has included new windows; open plan work space; glass pods; new kitchen and shower facilities as well as pressed metal window surrounds with infill render.

MWA has demonstrated how old buildings can be transformed to deliver environmental and aesthetic improvements that not only look good but create a strong environment that supports growth and further development.

Richard Eaglen, Managing Director at Leeds Welding, comments: “We have made significant investment in our business in recent years. New machinery, automation and improved systems have all played an important role in excelling within customer satisfaction and just in time deliveries.

“This has also been supported by our new home! We have worked hard to create a state-of-the-art facility that has and will continue to deliver improvements on many levels; in making better use of our space, enhancing our working environments to improving our environmental credentials. It looks and feels great!”

Daryl Le-Vine, Chartered Architect at MWA, comments: “We love nothing more than creating buildings that work harder! By modernising old warehouse and office space for Leeds Welding, we have helped develop corporate headquarters that they can be truly proud of.

“The internal layout no longer accommodates cellular offices, it’s open plan to encourage collaborative working, creating a positive working environment for the team.”

Appointed as Architect and Contracts Administrators for the £250,000 redevelopment, MWA was responsible for overseeing the construction process and ensuring the build conforms to UK building regulations.
